[click here]tania & Daisy (+ louis the dog)Having a dog as well as a small baby, I needed to find a way of getting out and about in the hilly derbyshire countryside. Daisy started her daily walks aged two weeks in the bushbaby front carrier. The carrier was intuitive to use, comfortable to wear and Daisy obviously liked it as she tended to fall asleep whilst in it. Pretty quickly the carrier became Daisy's main mode of transport wherever we went, be it to the supermarket or meeting up with friends as I found it reassuring to have her close to me, convenient to have my hands free and less of a struggle than fighting to unpack the pram. We have now progressed to the backpack which is surprisingly lightweight. Once again, thoughtful design makes it adaptable to whatever the weather and adds an element of fun - Daisy is fascinated by the little picture on the inside of the pack and we especially love the mirror to smile at each other. We get out and about a lot more with our carrier and we all love it - there are lots of smiles and barks as soon as the carrier comes out in the morning. Benefits to use
clare & ioloHow have we used our Bushbaby? Relentlessly – both close to home and further afield, the Bushbaby has enabled us to enjoy endless expeditions with our son that would have been frustratingly difficult, sometimes even impossible without a backpack. From day to day, the Bushbaby has been invaluable when nipping out to the shops – so much easier to negotiate through narrow doorways and down busy aisles and pavements than a pushchair, and Iolo sits up high so he can see all that is happening and enjoys the experience so much more. It really proved its worth in the ice and snow– much easier to carry Iolo in the backpack than to try and push a pushchair through the snow. Living just at the edge of the Peak District, we are lucky to have some fabulous walking country on our doorstep, but most of this would have been inaccessible without a backpack – the best all-terrain buggy will fall at the first stile. With the Bushbaby though, we have enjoyed almost daily ‘backpack walks’, up hill, down dale, over stile and through river. The Bushbaby also provides a great vantage point for tractor spotting, and doesn’t need cleaning after a muddy walk! Even when we have ventured into more urban environments, the Bushbaby has been an essential piece of kit – coffee shops, museums and shops are all much easier to visit with Iolo in his backpack, and busy places and events, like the Manchester Christmas markets become great family days out when Iolo is up high and can see all that is going on, and you don’t have to tackle the crowds with a pushchair. We have enjoyed some fantastic trips with Iolo – the cobbled streets of Rome, the bridges and canals of Venice, the markets and metro of Paris, and the hilltop towns of Tuscany. All of these destinations would have been daunting with a pushchair, but with the Bushbaby proved to be wonderful family holidays, with Iolo happily sitting in the backpack for the best part of each day, taking in the sights. The Bushbaby is without doubt the best piece ‘baby equipment’ we have. Not only does it fulfil an important function in our lives, it does so incredibly well. The harness is easily adjusted between my husband and myself, despite our differing builds, and distributes Iolo’s weight well, we still use it regularly and Iolo will be 3 in a few months. There are just enough pockets to carry the day’s essentials, and after 2 years good use, it works just as well, and looks almost as good as it did the day we got it – a well designed, well made product that makes life easier and more enjoyable – what more can you ask for? Our Bushbaby nestegg has always been great for trips away and visiting friends – it takes up very little space in the boot, is quick and easy to put up, can be squished into a small spare room and can be dismantled in moments. However, Iolo is now getting that little bit older, a little bit big for a conventional travel cot, and used to sleeping in a ‘proper’ bed at home – the nest egg is really proving his worth – Iolo will leap at any opportunity to sleep in his ‘tent’, and I’m sure we will have several more years of god use of our nest egg. |
